One Mega Apple & Black Chippy Wreath Centerpiece

At our local farm market last weekend I spied a display of these giant, green apples gourds and just had to have one!

Isn't it amazing?

I had a vision of it as a centerpiece for our kitchen table.

I kid you not, it's really, really, really big!

It makes such a great statement on top of my makeshift pedestal and centered in an old, black, chippy wreath.

Cream colored autumn mums, faux pumpkins, gourds and grapes fill the void between.

This is our, nice big, country kitchen.

There's even special accents on the chandy.

We're so grateful that we found this for rent last year!

I'll be sharing close-ups of our bay window with you next and then follow up with a recent Sunday dinner tablescape with lots of fall touches.

Til next time, I hope you're having fun with you own fall looks for the season.
I'll be working on sharing this...it's now here!
and this!

Glossy White Pumpkins & Touches of Gold on Our Fall Mantel & Coffee Table Centerpiece

A few weeks back my honey helped me paint two walls in our living room with a fresh, new, soft green. I chose to leave the other two in the existing, neutral, cream color because we live in a heavily wooded area and we need the lightness to keep the room bright.
I may still opt to paint the other walls in another shade of neutral and convince my honey to install a new light fixture and change out the plaid valances....it's just that our home is a rental and we'll have to change it back should we decide to ever leave.

This year I followed through with my staying light theme.

My treasured, vintage clock sits on a ladder shelf.

White hydrangeas, from summer, stayed mixed in with the decor.

Pine cones and acorns dipped in white paint and tipped, heavily, in gold.

As always country touches and glam.

And rustic, chippy, chippy love that makes my heart go pitter patter!

Plastic pumpkins sprayed in glossy white and highlighted with some "rub and buff" in gold add a bit of elegance to compliment the old.

A complimentary vignette on the hearth below.

A painted bushel basket filled with a harvest of whites.

We added an extension for our mantel that was made with love by my brother in-law...he's such a gem!

I told him that I missed the size of our old one which had more space for display and voila...he made my dream come true!

Another glossy pumpkin is featured on our coffee table on a shiney brass tray.

An amber, glass bead, necklace adds my favorite touch of glam.

A scarf, from my wardrobe, adds an interesting twist as an accent and runner that's wrapped through the tray's handles...
 like this.

A pair of amber votives and glittered falls leaves complete the coffee table centerpiece.

Fall, last year had more rusty tones.

This was from fall in our New York home

Now, I'm off to spend the rest of my day, poolside, with friends....84 and sunny is something that I simply cannot resist!

A White Pumpkin on our Mailbox

Our mailbox was the first thing to get it's new do in early September.....the rest came about little by little.

I resurrected last years mailbox swag and just added the new, white plastic, pumpkin and a new big, burlap bow.

It's the first thing to be seen that adds to our curb appeal.

The theme is carried right up to the front steps

and onto the door.

This was the wreath, that I made, that hung over our mantel last year...it looked nice in there, too.

A welcoming stand is on the right.

The owl is a single version of my "two southern owls."

Thyme is thriving in my rusty, little bike.

Red mums are the perfect addition for my old milk container.

I made an impromptu hand painted flag to replace our old glory.

Sweet potato vines and russian sage are "happy campers," too in our antique wash tub.

A lamp post vignette to welcome our guests.

My cast iron chair looks rather bare....it's had many seasonal looks. Last year's fall look was here.

My new vintage bike got a touch of fall, too!

More white pumpkins, the Halloween kind, found a home in the pots in the landscape vignette.

Last year's version of  our mailbox and post, if you missed it, was here.

Our mantel was the next to get done....I'll be working on that post and will be back to share it soon, too!
