Spring Fever is the Only Fever that Feels So Good!

I've been lucky to have escaped the flu, once again, so far this year, but I did just get a little touch of spring fever.
Thankfully, it just came in the form of pacifying my urge to see some colorful flowers on our mantle for a change.

Ranuculus  are my favorite flowers, so popping a few, very colorful ones, in my clock box gave me just the "ahhh" that I was after.

Ahhhh!

A few spring  budding branches and some other little buds completed the theme.

Pearls always add a touch of glam.

A pair of  salt dough hearts added a touch of Valentine's day to the birdhouse vignette on the tiny farmhouse milking stool.

Tiny copper wire lights, from Christmas, might stay up year 'round.....they just look so magicall.

A little touch of spring sits on the coffee table....

with a vintage heart shaped lock tucked in.

The window in our kitchen shed it's wintery look, too with more ranunculus and a little bird hiding in the Christmas cactus as the focal point.

I made a little centerpiece that you can  try with something that you may have. Raising things up always adds a bit of interest to a centerpiece.
I used a large stoneware compote and inverted it on top of a large white platter to make a unique plant stand. It's the perfect attraction for our sunny window.

And I was finally able to put this $6 vintage tablecloth to use. It makes a nice black and white accent underneath the cactus arrangement.

A chippy bird sits in a nest of bookpage curls inside a little stoneware butter pat.

The chippy old window just added a little something extra for background interest.

Gone is the burlap swag that was entwined in the valance...new herringbone bows add to the black and white theme that's been added to the room.
It's one of the most simple window displays that I've done and I like it!

The heart garden plaque is always on display somewhere around the house whether inside or out. I'm sure you've seen it before. It now has a more sentimental hold on us than ever since the passing of our dear Crissy who gave this to us many years ago. She passed on to heaven almost one year ago this spring...:(

I still have one, wee little, touch of winter that's hanging around. Ijust can't seem to bear putting my little snowmen back into winter storage. Especially since I spotted the perfect place to let them have one last show and tucked them into their new hangouts.
One in the little canvas pouch...
and the other in this rusty hanging heart.... perfect for a touch a Valentine's day that's coming soon.

Now that spring is done inside I'll be concentrating on making some new signs to put up for sale. It will keep me busy since it's not quite springlike for me to tackle any major changes outside, yet....we've still got a few more weeks to go!

How to Save the Blog Post Draft that you thought was Gone Forever!

Did you ever you lose an entire blog post that you were working on?

You hit a key and "bam" the screen went white and it all disappeared!!!
 😖

I've done that quite a few times, in the past, and started all over from scratch....ughhhh!

Well, somehow, I managed to find a way to bring it all "magically" back.

Something so simple that many of you may already know about, but for some reason I did not.

Are you ready for it?
?
?
?
It's the "magic" back arrow!!!

 😁

Yes, believe it or not, it's that simple!

Hoping that this post saved at least one person from having a really bad day 😄

Baby it's Cold Outside in NC & Alaska

Oh, boy...."Baby it's Cold Outside"
And that's a fact!

An older shot of our Venetian mirrior from an older post
Winter is hitting the entire east coast and really cold weather, with some sleet and snow, is in our forecast for today and tomorrow. Not the norm for coastal Carolina and I'll be happy when it warms back up next week. I'll be burning some winter calories doing some yardwork and putting the remainder of outside Christmas decorations away....hopefully, back in flip-flops again!

In the mean time, this past weekend, I got most of our Christmas decor put away, but left out some to keep the look of winter around for a tad bit longer.

The bay window was the first to get done by nesting all of the owls together in my little antique wheelbarrow.

The tree and sled are packed away along with all of the red ornaments that were on the mantel.

The entry, now, with my beautuful new canvas print.

Here it was with our Christmas decor.

The beautiful canvas was a gift from one of my "besties" who's young enough to be my daughter....I'll treasure it and our friendship forever!

This is DeeAnn and me from our lunch date a few years ago.....just look at her smile!

The majestic mountains of Alaska is one of many of her incredible images from her recent trip there to "practice" her photography.

Lots of gorgeous icebergs are among the many in her vast collection.

This one blew (blue) my mind!!!

Not sure if this was a fishing, tour or a rescue boat, but what a wonderful pic.

Another great shot from way up in the air.

I'm pretty sure she was hanging out the window or (knowing her) holding on to the tail bar of the last car...LOL!

Alaskan bears were all around her. She got many great pics of them!

This was one of the cutest bear shots.....love, love, love it!

How often does one get to see a bald eagle, let alone snap a shot like this?
It's from her portfolio of nature.

This is one of my favorite action shots that she nabbed, not far from her home.....what luck she has!

Here's my girl, in Alaska, in action...just look at that amazing lens!!!

and click on her portfolio's to see more.

Now, leaving you with a cell phone snap, through my car window, of our entrance waterfall frozen solid....I expect to see it flowing again next week...

'til then I hope that if the cold, ice and snow is in your forecast that you will stay safe and warm!
