Inside our foyer decked out for Christmas

Here is the first inside peek at out house for Christmas this year.

On  the wall, going to the upstairs, "JOY" is hung with removable command hooks to add some festiveness to the, usually bare, wall.

Another look and place it hung is here

I loved it's placement on the door!

 "LET IT SNOW," in painted wooden letters, is hot glued to the mirrors on the wall off to the left.

I love displaying pretty Christmas cards here, there and anywhere.

One Christmas stocking hangs on a chippy old door...

another hangs off  the evergreens that wrap around the railing.

Nostalgic Christmas cards hang in a vintage brass basket on the little wall rack.

Now, here's a little look into the kitchen....

 and a teasing glimpse of the living room, too.

Mailbox Makeover for Fall

Seasonal decorating at our house always means that our mailbox is gonna get a new look. The way I look at it is, if you want attention, start at the curb!

So, with a mix of white mums, fall leaves and white pumpkins a draping was made.

And then out of  hiding, in a closet, a little corn husk owl was found.

So, I attached him to the door with some good ol' duct tape.

I think that he added a really cute touch.

Home Sweet Home Mailbox

Our old mailbox was old and broken and recently needed replacing.You might already know me well enough to know that I like to start at our mailbox with curb appeal. 


It makes me and our mail lady smile and hopefully, our neighbor's do, too!

 I sprayed our new mailbox grey to match the trim and door on our house. The design was stenciled and hand painted to make it special.

I planted moon flowers in with my lamb's ears hoping that they will grow up the post and add to the faux greens and morning glories that I attached for a seasonal display.

This look will keep me happy until spring.

I took these pics, several weeks ago, when our azaleas were in full bloom.

We have lots more bushes in a mix of colors that are behind our house...I think we have over 30 in total!

We had a hot pink mailbox at our home in NY....our gardens were mostly pink, purple and white.

Our Mailbox is Wrapped in Red and Glittered Gold Creating Major Curb Appeal

It's that time again....time for a mailbox upscale and create some curb appeal for Christmas.

I just love driving up to our house and seeing

Our pink mailbox back home in New York

A new mailbox is in our future....this one has really seen better days. The door hinge has completely rusted out, so I made a haphazard repair to get through this season. I will be looking forward to a brand new one and creating a fresh new look come spring!

A White Pumpkin on our Mailbox

Our mailbox was the first thing to get it's new do in early September.....the rest came about little by little.

I resurrected last years mailbox swag and just added the new, white plastic, pumpkin and a new big, burlap bow.

It's the first thing to be seen that adds to our curb appeal.

The theme is carried right up to the front steps

and onto the door.

This was the wreath, that I made, that hung over our mantel last year...it looked nice in there, too.

A welcoming stand is on the right.

The owl is a single version of my "two southern owls."

Thyme is thriving in my rusty, little bike.

Red mums are the perfect addition for my old milk container.

I made an impromptu hand painted flag to replace our old glory.

Sweet potato vines and russian sage are "happy campers," too in our antique wash tub.

A lamp post vignette to welcome our guests.

My cast iron chair looks rather bare....it's had many seasonal looks. Last year's fall look was here.

My new vintage bike got a touch of fall, too!

More white pumpkins, the Halloween kind, found a home in the pots in the landscape vignette.
