Our Living Room is filled with LOVE!

Our living room is filled with LOVE and lots of hearts for Valentine's day!

The beautiful, black and gold vintage frame is a gift from a very dear friend that has been waiting for something special to fit inside it. So, I added scripted words, as a background, to the coat hanger heart that I made a few years ago.
A candle rose and an antique, ring box are balanced inside the frame's inside rim.

The words expess my love to my honey in a repeating pattern.

Grandma's baby shoe sits on top of a band box that I recently found. I had to have it when I saw the heart!

One of her pearl earrings accents the frame and photo from a very special night on the town.
I couldn't splurge on real, red roses for the vase, so the faux ones had to do for now.

I added a ruffle to "fancify" my bentwood chair.

A trio of Valentine candy boxes create a little vignette.

The ruffle matches the ruffles on our tv console.

A unique, gold, antique wire and wood basket holds nostalgic cards on my father's, little bentwood, chair.

Hearts hang on an old, white ladder in the corner of the room.

I hung my chippy shutter on the wall

and pinned a Valentine to it's center.

Subtle touches are on the washstand.

I love this shabby book and heart vignette.

Grandma's Victorian mirror wears a pair of gold tin hearts and a 1940's Valentine, too.

A little somethin' for the washstand.

Two, heart boxes and my honey and me, too!

I will be back with one last post for Valentine's day. I'll be showing you the tablescape that I'm planning for our most romantic day!

2014 Ladder of Love

I promised you in my post from our Valentine Mantel and Tree that I would share the details on our "Ladder of Love".
It's this year's twist of the one that I made for 2013
The ladder was saved from an eventual death, of weathered destruction, from years of use as a garden display piece.

I love using ladders inside, all year 'round, and now is the perfect time to show off some beautiful cards that my honey and I have shared along with other little, touches of love.
Hearts and keepsake cards are attached to strands of romantic pearls.

It never fails that a little something extra makes a late addition...

as did my grandmother's, pearl, clip on, earrings.

It's found a perfect spot in the corner of the room.

Next post....A valentine vignette on my shabby glam washstand. Hope you'll check it out.

Off to watch the "Super Bowl" or at least the great commercials!

Love, Hugs and Kisses,
JP
and Gucci, too!

Salt Dough Hearts and a Valentine Vignette in a Terrarium

The day to celebrate romance is getting near and it was time to play around with hearts.
Salt dough Valentine's with words of love to hang and display became my creations with an added touch of glitz.

The assortment of hearts then became my props to display for this post and now off to the shop they will go!

A mix of accents create romance and glam, with paper lace, rhinestone hearts and fluffy, little feathers.

The dough was stamped and the holes were made prior to their baking,

The words were selected hoping to sell some as a pair :)

These are especially dear to my heart....a "Savage Garden" hit from 1997!

And who can resist these favorite expressions of the heart?

or these?

Here they are on display in our kitchen's bay window....just for my "shoot" of the day.

I'm keeping winter in the house through Valentine's Day, this year.

I love my precious, little snowmen and I'm not ready to put them away!

I love using our terrarium for so many different vignettes and seasonal displays.

The little love birds were our very first ornaments that we purchased together.

Last year's Terrarium of Love can be seen here...if you have the time ;)

Vintage hearts from my collection...a rhinestone pin and foil wrapped chocolate add a little "candy for the eyes!"

Love~Love~Love

I need to make one more with...."intimacy"...when two become one.
It's my all time sentimental favorite!!!
Monday will be a day of pillows....hearts of course! Ones that I've been wanting to do for over a year now...I'm gonna have to keep one of them, too!
