Winter Terrarium Let it Snow Centerpiece

One of my favorite things to transform, throughout the year, is our terrarium. Well, actually it's the one that I gave to my honey for our anniversary many years ago ;)

For the longest time it only displayed small seasonal plants and still does occasionally.

Until the day that I was inspired by a very creative winter scene that took my breath away!

This year I featured a burlap poinsettia, a draping of pearls and my red cardinal that I used on our winter mailbox last year.

I gave the poinsettia some shabby glam with a stamen of pearls.

The cardinal sits on a nest of greens and snow on top her eggs of pearls.

Burlap lines the bottom with a covering of epsom salt snow and a dash of diamond dust glitter.

Icy picks that I had left over from our mantel wreath add a little covering on the rooftop.

Hot glue, epsom salts and diamond dust created the icy effects that cover the terrarium all around.

It's such a perfect centerpiece for the look of our dining area with our kitchen's bay window and chandy this year.

The fun of it all was the finishing touches that my daughter, Tanya, and I had when she helped me with the special touches...she's got talent, too!

Glamorous Pearl Easter Eggs

Well, this is going to be a really short post....I just couldn't wait to share my "Glamorous Easter Eggs" with you!

So, obviously, if you've been a follower of mine you know that I am a lover of country, shabby and glam. With Easter, soon, upon us and all of the fabulous egg creations in blogland, I just had to come up with my own unique twist on some eggs for my upcoming tablescape for the holiday. 

They couldn't be pink or any pretty pastels and red wasn't "lighting my fire."

But, upon looking through my piles of stash, a roll of pearls caught my eye.

  And so, my "fire" was lit and these are my creations

with more accents added

each one with it's own little "twist"

 now, looking so sweet in my shabby, wire basket

and fitting in as part of the centerpiece, on our table, for now.

A Chippy Nightstand with a Paint Wash Wallpaper Twist

I'm so eager to share my nightstand creation with you to see if it's a hit or a miss. I posted some sneak peek pics on my FB page and got some "yucks" and "ewes!"

This is one of the three, glass knobs that I chose in lieu of the original, tiny, wooden ones...they're a beautiful, shade of robin's egg blue with a vintage look, all wrapped with jute twine for a rustic contrast.

 I chose a paintable, damask wallpaper to line the drawers and adorned the top with a "wash" of paint in the perfect blue to add a little more "wow."

This is a better picture of the blue color wash...it really does match the glass knobs perfectly!

Twine, jute and sheer blue ribbon with a rhinestone pin adds an unexpected touch of elegance to the mix.

Here it is in the shop....maybe someone will like it!

19th Century Mirror with a Shabby Glam Twist

Did some of you see the "sneak peek" of my mirror on my Facebook page the other day?

Do you like the finish on it's chippy, gesso frame? Layers of gold, teal and white and finished with a soft paste wax.

So, today, I finished it and took it "on location" for a photo shoot!

Of course I forgot to take a pic of it before :(  

but, here it is after.

  I'm not the best photographer, but I did have fun with the beautiful trees and back ground at our, private, fishing pier. It's a nice walk from our house on the Lockwood Folly River.

 And what a gorgeous day for photographing it was!

With huge, live oak, trees so majestic and old!

And smaller beauties, too.

Even this dead, old tree has photographic appeal.

A white, silk rose with an exquisite, vintage, rhinestone and pearl pin.....

he perfect "Shabby Glam" touch!

 Besides finishing this frame today, I completed a bunch of painting

 projects. I need a lot to bring with me to my Southport shop space, next weekend. 

Here are a few, cell phone, pics from last night's visit there w/my daughter and my honeyman...we are so in love with this quaint, little town!
