A Buffalo Check Christmas Tablescape & Centerpiece with Chickadees

Christmas is amost upon us in just a few short weeks and because I love to give you ideas to incorporate into your own home, I created this tablescape in red with accents of the ever popular black and white buffalo check.

For this one I used two round tablecovers, layered and gathered, with a scarlet red satin bow, between each place setting.

Here, I photoshopped a sprig of holly to the ribbon, which is something you may like to add to yours. I chose to keep it more simple since there was already a lot going on with sprigs of berries on the table.

Buffalo check napkins placed underneath black chargers with red, poinsettia toile, dinner plates create quite an impact over the red faux burlap tablecloth. White battenburg napkins are simply tied with white satin ribbon and accented with white berry picks placed to the side of each plate.

Rolling up the top tablecloth and securing it with an accent of your choice is something that's so easy to do!

Buffalo check napkins, placed on a diagonal, add an additional visual impact as place mats, underneath the black chargers.
The beautiful plates are available at Replacements.com and may be found on Etsy or Ebay.

They are really beautiful!

How cute are my little chickadees as accents for the theme around the table? A sprinkling of epsom salts beneath the lanterns on the saucers added a snowy base just for sparkley fun!

The chickadees were from last year's Christmas tree and have managed take flight and perch in our snowy white tree again this year.

Here are a few sneak peeks!

Naturally, another larger Christmas lantern had to be the center of attention at the table. Sprigs of winter greens, deep red pomegranates with ornaments of pearl surround the lantern. Wooden beads of cranberries, candy canes and a pair of icy chickadees that flank each side, so sweetly.

The precious, icy, chickadees came from Hobby Lobby in 2019.

That's all for now, I've got all our other decorating done and a few more Holiday posts to share with you, including a gorgeous, winter white, formal tablescape.

Always hoping that my posts give you at least one idea that you may like to try a version of  in your own decor!

Til Next Time...

Winter Window Candlescape with a little bit of Love!

Christmas may be over but it's still winter so I changed our bay window to a winter candlescape theme.

My, little, white sled, an assortment of votives and some shiny green leaves, from our camellia tree, were the beginnings of the creation for the new look.
Red and white are almost always my go to colors.

Our, old, white painted, fireplace screen adds an interesting depth to the background in the window.

I love a red berry wreath especially when adorned with hearts.

The owl that was on display as a part of the window's Christmas decor is sticking around for the rest of winter. He's just too cute to put away!

An inverted ironstone compote with a red transferware plate created an interesting base for the vignette on top.

Red transferware saucers are placed underneath  many of the votives.

Candles are always just so romantic any ole time of the year.

Epsom salt covers the outside of this votive jar.

A canvas banner of love made it's debut again for Valentine's day.

I think the white rustic crate really makes a great impact to the overall setting.

Another piece of transferware is tucked inside the hanging lantern for a little surprise.

A bouquet of miniature silk roses hangs in a spot that needed just a little something.

The Waterford heart came from one of my sweet girls for Christmas several years ago. It always makes me sigh when I come across it every year!
I'm looking forward to creating a new tablescape and celebrating an extra special day of  "Love" this year.

A Faux Chalkboard Window & Some Changes in Our Corner Cupboard

Vintage windows always get my attention and I love using them in our decor as well as doing something special with them to pass them on for sale.

This double paned oldie is now a useful organizer/memo board and is waiting for a new home.

It looks like chalkboard, but just a little neater. I just painted the back black and attached a white, paint marker to write lists, notes and to-do's.

Eight bronze hooks were added for hanging all sorts of things.

I had a really hard time parting with it!

That's because I really love my Italian, linen, tea towel that I framed a few years ago.....I don't think that I'm ready to part with it or should I?

I retired some of the dishes to the storage cabinet to make room to display more of my white ironstone in our corner cupboard.

Many of the pieces are Goodwill finds.

This was a real oldie that I just couldn't pass up for 2.99

And this is my vintage, mid 1800's, platter that I scapped up from there, too. I love it stains, crazing and all!

It's signed Thomas Hughes Burslem.

I added a few roosters here and there.

Beatrice and Mathew were my grandparents and these were their vintage egg cups.

This was another GW steal for just 2.99

It's an old toleware, hand painted, cup.

Signed in old English.

That's all for this post :)
