Winter Mantel...Baby it's Cold Outside!

The holiday decorations are finally down!!!
And since I'm not ready to put all of my cute winter stuff away,  I decided to have some fun with a winter mantel theme.

So, here's my wintery creation...
 "Baby it's Cold Outside!"

I borrowed  the vintage, etched glass, mirror from it's spot in our guest room and put the one that was on our New Year's Mantel  in it's place.

The writing was done with my white paint marker, again...it's perfect for leaving little notes on mirrors and wipes right off!

My new, little snowmen came out of their Winter Wonderland in Our Terrarium and look right at home again.

This is our very 1st Christmas tree...love the "topsy" look that I saw @  Funky Junk Interiors and had to copycat that....thank you Donna!

Our little clock with "glam!"

My, dollar store, church upscaled with white paint, glitter and rhinestone glitz!

Some painted snowflakes and "ice" hang from a pearl garland on the right.

Our old, "glammed up," pierced tin, lantern with it's flickering votive hangs to the left.

My vintage,  "painted glass," apothecary jar and candle sit on the hearth below.

White, winter skates, "grandmas" woolen, white gloves and a "painted" milk glass vase filled with a collection of snowballs create a sweet, little vignette on the other side.

Faux snowballs and pine cones fill a basket inside the fireplace.
Gotta have to get some wood...we're long overdue for a nice, cozy, fireside romp! ;)

Now, I've got some MAJOR packing to do....those decorations that I said that I took down
still haven't gotten packed away. My ADD got me side tracked into writing this post!

Love, Hugs and Kisses,
JP

Wonderland...Our Mantel Reveal

I want to begin by saying that I am, so, thankful that my husband and I have our comfortable home and the things that we love and cherish to share with you, in my posts, on my blog and thank you for following me!
But, before I begin, I am feeling the need to dedicate this Holiday post by sending thoughts and prayers to all of those not fortunate enough to be celebrating their normal festivities, in their own homes, this Holiday season. Specifically, those who lost their homes from the devesatations of hurricane Sandy, the train de-railment in New Jersey, those who are hospitalized for whatever reason and our brave men and women in the armed forces. I wish, all, a fast return to homes and loved ones and a new start to carry on and be surrounded with love!

Happy Holidays

May God Bless

Now, if you saw the "little peeks" in my Pearl and Gold Candlescape post  then you kinda know what my mantel theme is for this year, so-o-o...

Let it Snow....Let it Snow...Let it Snow!

It snowed on our mantle and even in my pics.....I had a lot of fun with Pic Monkey's winter editing tool.

Here's an evening shot w/out the falling snow... 'though I did add more fake snow to the greenery.

You'll notice more snow in some pics...look closely!

My wonderfully, detailed snowmen are cherished gifts, handed down, from my dad...I just adore them!

Jolly santas, from my mom, stand in place on the hearth.

Stay tuned for lots more upcoming posts of our tree...entry...chandeliers...vignettes and more!

Til then...enjoy the Holiday's to the Max!

Love, Hugs and Kisses,

JP

Our Mantel was Craving more Fall Colors

Our beautiful, oak tree is a little more rust, this year, than it's occasional, magnificent, deep red. But, even on this gloomy, fall day it still screams..."look at me!"

I really like our white fireplace decor but, I've been craving more of the traditional, fall color scheme.

This was it's first look.

Since, I had some leftover, floral picks, from last weeks dinner party, I decided to tuck them into the existing mantel design and move a few props, from around the room, to give me that warm and cozy autumn feel.

This is how it looks, now!

My, very special, little mice!

And here's my favorite scarf in use again!
I think it needs a bed of leaves, but it's raining...so, tomorrow is another day.

Managed to spot some bittersweet right out in our driveway. I think it works, okay, as a "filler."

Hope you like the addition of color as much as I do...I'm really happy, now!

Love, Hugs and Kisses,
JP
