That "Time" of Year Again!

That "time" of year is almost here again"...Time to set our clocks back and deal with darkness setting in on us earlier than we all care for.

It's the time of year that makes me a bit depressed to lose the beautiful light of day. I'm sure you can relate!

It just so happened that upon creating one last fall tablescape (before I begin my Christmas decorating) I spied my precious clock and decided to add it to the centerpiece.

After we made our wooden riser I suddenly envisioned having co-ordinating placemats.

My vision turned out just the way they were in my mind. Large enough to be the base to hold layers of eyecatching lovlieness!

The unique placement of the napkin was one of those things ths kind of just happened. It gave another dimension to the place setting, don't you agree?

This is the wood I bought and had my honey cut into 3 pieces to make asuper chunky riser. He was able to screw them all securely together.

I then gave it a coat of American Walnut stain and applied, very randomly, some dark coffee antique medium to make it an even deeper tone.

I really did love the way the color came out and will make another one, soon. White was my first choice, so I had to continue on with the next step.

I applied my white chalk paint sparingly to allow some of the base color to show through.

It helped to give it a distressed look.

I had to wait a week or so for the feet to arrive.

They finished off the look perfectly and there's one thing I know for sure, these new pieces are definitely gonna be getting a lot of use  in our house....stay tuned for their Christmas looks real soon!

Who Says Black and Brown Can't Go Together?

Someone recently commented that black and brown don't go together in a decor group that I follow.

That comment inspired me to create this simple country style post, since I strongly disagree.

Of course it helps to have some pops of white!

This sweet gathering basket that first called to me to use it for the centerpiece is filled with gathered autumn collections.

I think the black and white plaid kitchen towel layered with a few found acorns set off the color theme perfectly.

Here's a perfect example of why I think black and brown can go together like salt and chocolate. Layers of brown and black that look good to me.

The berries, found on trees in our landscape, paired perfectly with the hyacinth napkin rings and placemats for the rustic place setting.

I found these wood looking chargers at my local Walmart of all places.

Stripes and plaid in the mix, I think they work, too.

So, tell me what do you think? Do black and brown go together?

Oh, and trust me, for this last picture.

I swear I didn't coerce Gucci to pose for this one...he made me laugh when I was taking a close up shot of the place setting and looked down to see his sneaky little face!

Dinner Reservations in Rustic Glam Style

Dinner Reservations & a Tablescape in the style of Rustic Glam

with two more tablescapes to inspire you for fall.

One is a setting for two that is a bit more laid back, but still a bit formal.

The other is definitely a more formal affair which would be beautiful for a wedding this time of year or for a show stopping Thanksgiving gathering.

First up is..."Dinner for Two," set with a glamorous, ivory, runner from Premier Table Linens.

It's from their velvet table runner line of which they carry over 18 rich color selections....I swear it feels just like ultra suede and I want to wear it!

The bare wood table top keeps this look less formal, yet, still very elegant.

Using just a single runner on our old pine table with an old salvaged board, dry brushed in white, made an interesting, farmhouse style base. It created a visual crossover pattern for our round table.

Table #7...Reservations for Four

The centerpiece, here, features my white pumpkin, again...a look that I have done in the past. My grandmother's pearls along with a sienna glass bead necklace adorn it creating an ultra glam style.

A slightly more formal look was created by layering the elegant runner with the addition of a farmhouse style Havana linen burlap tablecloth.

You can find their wide selections here.

A  similar variation of the first centerpiece was changed up, with two square risers, in order to accomodate a party of four around the table.

Something different for the silverware setting just fell into place.

Havana Linen tan napkin

Gathering the runner, tied with jute made the look of the runner even more special. I love their selection of colors of jute twine....see what else they carry here.

Havana Linen curtains from their Premier Burlap Boutique are seen on our old cupboard.

Burlap, drawstring, bags filled with seasonal mums, a gold leaf with a place seat tag is a cute idea for any special event that you may want use to dress up your chairs....remember this for all holidays and wedding events.

Grandma's earrings attached the tags add more glam.

A selection of their bags and totes can be found here

I hope this fall lookgave you some nice ideas for your own special gathering.

A Fabulous Fall Tablescape with Fabulous Layered Linens

 Can we talk about "Fabulous?"

I had so much fun creating this beautiful tablescape. The amazing linens, in this tablescape, was all new to me and I'm, over the moon, ecstatic that Premier Table Linens has reached out to me to work with them promoting their line. Without a doubt, they carry the ultimate in quality and the most vast selection of table coverings and accessories on the market.

Check out their website for everything you need for your next intimate gathering or large special event.

I, now, present to you a peek at my fabulous fall tablescape...tada!

I, always, start out with piles of things that I think I might want to use and they're usually all plopped on a chair and on the table itself...it gets my creative juices flowing.
Not all of  my inspiring choices always get used!

They sent me a wonderful collection of things to choose from for creating a visual setting.

but, some things will just have to wait.

That off white runner, draped over the chair, is a definate choice to be featured next time!

Now, trust me when I say that a tablescape, like this, can take many hours of tweaking and finalizing as many of you already well know.
Thankfully, my vision ended up even better than I'd planned!

I chose to go with traditional fall colors because sometimes I need a full blown "color fix!"
Look at this, gorgeous, orange, Havana tablecloth available in 26 colors.

Layering linens, placemats and dishes is one thing I love to do for really special occassions.

Garden herbs are a wonderful thing to have on hand for accenting a napkin or place setting.

Their, logo printed, jute burlap runner can add an additional attraction to your table from their Premier Burlap Boutique. Personalization is available with your phrase, monogram or design.
I'd love to have 2 runners, like this, on our round table to create a cross over pattern. Next time, my wish has already been granted....it's in the mail!

Oh, and then there are these curtains!!!
Can I say,  "FABULOUS FAUX BURLAP?"
Yes, absofigginlutely!!!
Scratchy burlap they are not....soft and heavy and gorgeous, they are, all while giving a really appealing farmhouse look.

And lastly, I present to you....a beautiful, evening, presentation.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my comeback post and presentation of Premier Table Linens and the one of many styles of tablescapes that I love to do.
Please, share my post to help me get back into the swing of things again....it's been a long time, but I hope you'll welcome me back!
