Dinner Reservations in Rustic Glam Style

Dinner Reservations & a Tablescape in the style of Rustic Glam

with two more tablescapes to inspire you for fall.

One is a setting for two that is a bit more laid back, but still a bit formal.

The other is definitely a more formal affair which would be beautiful for a wedding this time of year or for a show stopping Thanksgiving gathering.

First up is..."Dinner for Two," set with a glamorous, ivory, runner from Premier Table Linens.

It's from their velvet table runner line of which they carry over 18 rich color selections....I swear it feels just like ultra suede and I want to wear it!

The bare wood table top keeps this look less formal, yet, still very elegant.

Using just a single runner on our old pine table with an old salvaged board, dry brushed in white, made an interesting, farmhouse style base. It created a visual crossover pattern for our round table.

Table #7...Reservations for Four

The centerpiece, here, features my white pumpkin, again...a look that I have done in the past. My grandmother's pearls along with a sienna glass bead necklace adorn it creating an ultra glam style.

A slightly more formal look was created by layering the elegant runner with the addition of a farmhouse style Havana linen burlap tablecloth.

You can find their wide selections here.

A  similar variation of the first centerpiece was changed up, with two square risers, in order to accomodate a party of four around the table.

Something different for the silverware setting just fell into place.

Havana Linen tan napkin

Gathering the runner, tied with jute made the look of the runner even more special. I love their selection of colors of jute twine....see what else they carry here.

Havana Linen curtains from their Premier Burlap Boutique are seen on our old cupboard.

Burlap, drawstring, bags filled with seasonal mums, a gold leaf with a place seat tag is a cute idea for any special event that you may want use to dress up your chairs....remember this for all holidays and wedding events.

Grandma's earrings attached the tags add more glam.

A selection of their bags and totes can be found here

I hope this fall lookgave you some nice ideas for your own special gathering.

 Til Next Time...

A Thrifty Makeover for Mom's Chair & a Wee Easter Basket

Mom's old chair got a little makeover today and a wee Easter basket sits upon it.

The colors unite with the spring theme of the fireplace and mantel.

The, twisted and crossed, woven, green ribbon adds a little fun accent to its back.

I kept the burlap seat and just hot glued, green ribbon, ruffles and white clothesline roping to unite the look. I love me some "no sew" ruffles!

A little, old, Easter basket holds a few sweet treats on the burlap seat.

The chair at one time looked like this.

and then it looked like this.

It's a cute, little change that should last me for a while!

Now, here's a little glimpse of where it sits next to our fireplace.
I "posterized" the pic just to tease you!
I will share be sharing posts of my spring wreath, topiaries and mantel and fireplace in separate posts that will be coming, soon!

Spring in a Hanging Moss Basket

It's early March and we are seeing some signs of spring here in N.C.
Daffodils are blooming along with the pansies that have been showing their beauty in many places all winter long.
So naturally, I couldn't wait a minute longer to have some spring hanging at home on our front door.

It's just a little touch freshness and a subtle hint of what's inside of our little, brick, cape cod.

Last spring the basket looked like this, in it's natural state, on our front door.

This year I wanted something white!

So, with the magic of  spray paint and some white tulips our basket got a new look...

with some planted vinca, fresh rosemary, a bit of lavender, a burlap bow...

and a real bird's nest with some pearl eggs, too!

Here it is a more distant view....can you see our little "Gucci" peering at me from the window?

Here's a little glimpse at something inside.

Our mantel and fireplace, a centerpiece and bay window re-do is done. So, watch for the posts I'll be posting them soon!

Christmas Countdown Frame with Cranberries & Burlap

I managed to cram in one more creation for Christmas... it's a tad bit late, I should have had it done at the beginning of the month. Better late than never!

A, newly painted, large, black frame, burlap accents, cranberry strands, chalkboard tags and Christmas mementos pulled it all together.

It's a perfect Christmas countdown calendar board, above the desk, in our kitchen!

I created tags, in "Pic Monkey", printed them out on card stock and hung them from jute string. I painted this Santa almost 30 years ago.
As of today there are 7 days left until Christmas.

I removed the tags each day as they passed. If I'd had more time I would have added some seasonal stickers to the backs of each and just flipped them around...next year I will!

A favorite, tattered post card adds to the display.

"Mom's" tiny porcelain bell, a mid century heirloom, will ring on Christmas day.

Christmas will soon be here or may have already passed, depending on when you happened upon this post.

I thought you might like a closer look at this little display that hangs on the wall by our desk.

He's my sweet, little Santa that was in our terrarium for Christmas here

This year's frame was a take off of my cranberry display frame that I made a few years back.

I made a more glamorous one last year....it's back on display in our living room, again, this year.
I had to add an extra tag for one, extra special, day after Christmas. It's a birthday countdown for    my youngest, Kristi Marie aka Kris, Miss Kris, Kwis D Mawee (as she used to always thought her name was) Happy 27th Birthday.....I am so proud of you, my single mom of three.....I love you and miss you so very much! xoxoxo

Hoping to get a few more posts in before Christmas passes this year!
