A Chippy Nightstand with a Paint Wash Wallpaper Twist

I'm so eager to share my nightstand creation with you to see if it's a hit or a miss. I posted some sneak peek pics on my FB page and got some "yucks" and "ewes!"

This is one of the pics.

and another

This is one of the three, glass knobs that I chose in lieu of the original, tiny, wooden ones...they're a beautiful, shade of robin's egg blue with a vintage look, all wrapped with jute twine for a rustic contrast.

I chose a paintable, damask wallpaper to line the drawers and adorned the top with a "wash" of paint in the perfect blue to add a little more "wow."

This is a better picture of the blue color wash...it really does match the glass knobs perfectly!

Twine, jute and sheer blue ribbon with a rhinestone pin adds an unexpected touch of elegance to the mix.

Here it is in the shop....maybe someone will like it!

With white painted pumpkins with some "Shabby Glam"

Here it is with my Chippy Old Chair in my little shop space.

So, what do you think? Do "yuck" and "ewe" still apply? ;)

This is my space with some items waiting to be sold.

Mini versions of My Two Southern Owls

Now, here's what I'll be working on soon...it's gonna be a rustic, french country beauty!

I'll be back soon with something to share:)

Love, Hugs and Kisses,
JP

I think it's a pretty little piece, Janet! You will get those who don't like the distressed look and those who do, so I imagine opinions will vary. Of course, in your booth someone who likes the distressed look will fall in love with it and you will come out the winner either way!

i adore the little table....PLEASE tell me how to do a paint wash on the paper.....thank you. Shame on anyone who could think YUCK. Luv your work.

Oh, Lesa....paint wash is just a watered down paint. The more water you use, the more transparent it becomes. Try it, it's fun!
