Cozy Sherpa Lazy No Sew Pillows

I needed to change the four pillows in our couch. The ruffle on the last ones started curling up after 6 months of use. They served their purpose, but it was time for a change.
Since I'm just too busy lazy to use my sewing machine, I decided to make some quick, no sew, wintery replacements.
So, I made four, warm, sherpa pillows just like this.

Simply tied with burlap and a festive, holly pick tucked into the knot...so-o-o perfect for our couches.

I found this throw, in Walmart, for just $12.98. It had the warm and wintery look that I was after.

And it was large enough to cut four equal squares to cover the fronts.

First, each pillow got placed into a pillow case and then I folded up the ends... kinda like a package. Next, I hot glued a 3 inch strip of velcro to hold the flap closed and wrapped it with it's burlap bow.

We turn them over for comfort when we watch t.v. and flip them back to their showy side when we go to bed.

Ha-ha...look who was hiding underneath the throw!
"Gucci," he's our cuddley, "puppy" pillow!
Isn't he a perfect match!

No Sew Shabby Ruffled Pillows & Keeping Busy

I'm missing my girls and grands back home and yesterday was my 1st sad day with worries about my girls and not being there for a shoulder to cry on (the phone and internet just don't cut it!)
So, to help pass the time and not constantly worry I decided to get working on some projects.

I have been wanting to cover our, four, couch pillows for quite some time...their color and pattern were never my style!
This is what I ended up with....a NO SEW pillow with shabby ruffle trim.

Here they are with their rust and brown, geometric print...not my style!

So, I racked my brain on what to do.... what would be quick , cheap and easy?

Well, I had four, red, standard pillowcases, (from Dollar General for just $4), scraps of leftover linen, baker's twine, jute string, an assortment of buttons (you know I love my glam) and my favorite friend, good old, hot glue....so, here is how they went.

After, simply, slipping my pillows into the pillow cases and thinking about what I should do next,  I came across this leftover ruffle laying in my scrap pile.  It was just long enough to wrap around the front of my pillow and I had just enough fabric to make, three more, matching ruffles!

I gathered and glued my 5" wide strip and used  FRAY CHECK to keep my shabby, raw edges from raveling away, in due time.

After folding the extra length of pillow case over the back I hot glued my ruffle in place and used my baker's twine and jute to tie it and glued that in place, too....not perfect, but, just so  easy!!!

The brasstone, rhinestone button got hot glued on and added just the right, finishing touch!

It's just right, now, for our couch and décor!

I love them with my Shabby Glam Washstand one of my reader favorite posts!

On the couch.

and with "Gucci' on the love seat.

His favorite spot!

My Genuine, No Sew, "L'il Bit Shabby" Pillow!

I love accent pillows and make them when I can, but when time, money for materials and fabric on hand are short.....you gotta make do!
So, I love to move things around a lot and when I find more than one perfect spot a replacement is needed to fill the void!

And this chair, definitely, needed a"quick fix" to fill the spot where I stole the pillow from.
Here it is without the pillow!  :(

This is where I love it, now!
I made the pillow to match my ottoman.

So, I found this pillow (not my style) @ the Goodwill for just under $2 and planned to cover it with some of the leftover fabric. Low and behold...there wasn't enough. Just a scrap barely big enough for a "bow."

So, for now, I flipped it over, wrapped the burlap scrap around it, tied it in a "raggy knot" and added a rhinestone pin.

VOILA...a totally, "No Sew Pillow" saved the day!

My "No Sew" and "l'il bit shabby" replacement!
I know it's not a spectacular creation, but it is still really, really cute!

 In it's new spot.

Short and sweet... it's TGIF for my hard working "honey" so, that means..."date night."
Gotta go get ready to make him "swoon!

Love, Hugs and Kisses,
JP
hmmmm...wish I had a red wig!
