Another Special Sunday

We just had another special Sunday with our close friends and it was a perfect excuse to pull another fun tablescape. I am so happy to have great, new friends and my blog to be able to save pictures and share ideas of decorating with you. It makes memories almost come to life when I look back at my posts and think of the laughs and stories that we shared.

We shared a few bottles of wine.

I used our vintage, brown transferware, plates by Johnson Bros. and little butter pats to hold the place setting initialed pears.

See how I once "faked a place setting" here!

This ironstone tureen, by redcliff, held grated cheese....the meal was a typical Italian affair.

I snapped a pic of one of our appetizer's with my cell phone....tomatoes and mozzarella with fresh basil and a nice balsamic glaze.

I shared a variation of this centerpiece here.

I tweaked the window display....you can see the little changes here.

It's been in the 80''s here as you can see by the sunshine outside and I'm in heaven....off t odo some shellin'!

and Gucci, too!

FAKE Plate Chargers & a Glamorous Fall Brunch

You might know that a few weeks ago I found an incredible set of Sheraton dishes that I purchased to sell. But, I just couldn't bear to see them go without having used them at least one time!

So, I planned a tablescape for a beautiful brunch and eyed my Italian, tole charger that was hanging on the wall.

Well, then came this one, major "problemo".....to be able to set a table for four, but, "oh no"
I would need three more!

This was the look that I was dying to achieve.

So, with no time to hunt another one down I'd just have to FAKE them!
So, into my copier my charger  then went. Oops, another "problemo".....it was too big for my copy machine. Well, then two copies, on cardstock, just had to be made. I cut each one in 1/2 and then taped them together and VOILA.....I did it.

Not bad for a FAKE!

This is how it looked.

A delicious blend of amethyst, white and gold set the tone for my brunch.

This is how it looked, with the centerpiece, before brunch was served. That post is here.

A few brass touches to compliment the gold.

Including my sweet, wire, brass basket to hold the croissants.

Grapes on my, new Wedgwood plate.

Old Vine is the pattern of my newest desire.

This, sweet little, ironstone tureen holds some home made jam.

With an acorn, hot glued, to accent it's top.

My grandmother's, silver plate, "turned" handled, knife served butter on this ironstone dish.

And sugar and cream in her etched crystal servers.
Ribbons and pearls add glam to the glasses.

Heirloom flatware, in silver plate....
on a napkin with pearls and a fall pick....a sight to behold!

Even last minute details were added to the chairs.

A few views from all sides of the room.

Not a bad kitchen for a rental...we love it!

Now, tell me....did you like my idea for faking a tray?

Did you know that I FAKED it with my brown, transferware dishes once before?

That post with those dishes is here.

And my Sheraton dishes are in this post, too.

So tell me....I'd love to hear from you!

 Love, Hugs and Kisses,
JP

Sheraton Dinnerware & Oh, What A Score!

Do you know how hard it is to find something that you just love, that's so perfect for your own home, that you really want to keep, but know you have to let it go?
Well, last week, when shopping for inventory at Habitat for Humanity, I found this beautiful set of Sheraton dinnerware by Johnson Bros.
And, Oh my, what a score....it was just $40 for a 32 piece set!

A mixed bouquet in autumn tones cover the porcelain so heavily.  Now, come see them all with me!

Five, beautiful dinner plates.

Don't they look so pretty with the grapes?

Four cup and saucers

and one bonus saucer a back up or for display...looking so pretty on my sweet, little, brass easel!

Not a bad $5 find!

Seven, lovely salad bowls.

Four dessert bowls and four bread and butter dishes.

A gravy boat and saucer complete my wonderful find!

And finally one more pic that I wanted to share.....my precious, Beatrice and Mathew egg cups. They hold such sweet, sweet memories of my grandparents. They were always on display on a shelf, above their kitchen table, when they were not in use for breakfast, almost every single day!

Beatrice, aka my sweet, Grandma Bea, is always in my header and will always be!
