A while back I added a ruffle to our mantel to add a shabby look. It gave me the idea to add some ruffles to our tv unit. Now, I really would like to paint it, but I'm just so afraid to! It's an Ethan Allen piece.
This is how it looks a little bit "shabbified". I think I might add some cotton roping to each shelf to continue the ivory....ruffles would just be too much.
I forgot to take a before pic...this a partial look.
I love our wide screen tv, but it sure doesn't fit in with our decor!
I just added the roping :)
This will keep me happy for a while, until I get brave enough to tackle the paint job!
I sure would love to hear what you think!

Well, I decided to take Sandy's advice and remove the center ruffle to expose more of the wood. I used the ruffle to add it to my old, black, bentwood chair. I like it better, now!

I think it helps to unify the space and bring the shabby in. I know what you mean, it's kinda scary to commit to paint knowing that you can not go back.
This is a great alternative.

Well, it all depends if you are going for the shabby chic style. Some people add a lot of shabby to their spaces.
I think the ruffles are so cute! But I do think I would like it better to just have the ruffles on the two sides and leave the middle with that pretty decorative wood...just my opinion. I love them though!
This looks so sweet! I would never have thought to add ruffles and it looks wonderful.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Looks adorable!
