It was Time to do the Summer Shuffle

Summer is almost officially here and I just couldn't wait any longer to do the "summer shuffle."
You know, when it's time to rearrange an area to fit in more with the season?
Our kitchen window was one of those spots that was ready for a change.

I liked this look, that it had all spring, but the new look has been waiting in my little mind for quite some time.
the post is here

My wheelbarrow came out of storage to be the center of attention once again. Here it is filled with red summer geraniums.

It's a 1923 child's toy...I guess I'm still a child!

The birdhouse has been around for about thirty years. It adds another vintage touch.

Variegated sage hangs from an antique wooden pulley.

My rusty vintage scale holds fresh potted sage and an old sage spice jar.

A mini tobacco basket is perfect to dry some sage.

Here's a collage of a few looks of my little wheelbarrow. I see that I need to do a Christmas, a winter and an Easter one....hmmmm

Now, that it's done I'm happy with the change.

Bang Boom Bam! A Patriotic Tablescape

In honor of celebrating the Fourth of July I decided to gather some red, white and blue and create a tablescape, just for you!

We not planning on a having a dinner or even a picnic gathering, but since I already had everything that I needed to pull it all together I went ahead and did a little "make believe!"

Decorating is very therapeutic to me and it gives me great pleasure to see something turn out as cute as this.

I placed the flatware and cups for coffee on the lazy susan to be convenient to each place setting.

I recently gave it a brand new look by adding a flag fabric band, to the edge, to fit in with the theme. It's, also, concealing the words that I added when I chose the new design.
I'll share it's transformation and the many new looks that it will be wearing very soon!

An old basket, that I recently found, went from a boring old brown to a more pleasant white with a brushing of paint.

I adore these old bread plates and bowls that I found at my favorite, little, antique store down the road. It's called "Miss Minnie's Antiques"....check her out on facebook and stop by for a visit if you're ever in town!

This is my, great grandmother's, flow blue, berry bowl...I sure wished I had some strawberries and blueberries to fill it today!

More from her collections add more vintage to the theme.
I have a lot of blue and white and really want to share them one day with you, too.

A " standing on a chair view".....pretty picture for you.

Now, comes the hard part when I have to put it all away. But, it's definitely staying 'til my honey comes home...he always appreciates the art of my decors!

I'll end this post with a peek from last weekend's dinner that we hosted for good friends.
It was a really delicious meal with a full blown, Italian theme!
