Our Mantel and Fireplace Finally Have the Look of Fall

Our living room had the look of summer longer than I normally could have bared it. Dealing with my husband's surgery and aftercare made it one of the last things, on my mind, to waste precious time on. If he was still dependent on my care it would still look like this today.

The look is finally gone, but, you can still see it  here

Now, thankfully, he's almost back to his old self and I was able to take on the project of changing the look of our living room to fall with our white tin panel as the center of attention.

The look is a mix of white with autumn tones, starting with the mantel here. The burlap banner, from last year, has the addition of faux, fall mums.

Chippy old shutters came off the wall to balance the height of the look to the right.

I love the look with the candle light!

I pulled out my letter cubes similar to the ones that I used in our summer tablescape and made a little swag banner to fill in the blank spot.

This is a close up of the look to the right with the wide, burlap ribbon that I decided to go without.

An ironstone pitcher always looks better with pearls and perched on an upside down really old basket.

A, worn, brown novel is a charming touch to the items on top.

A pair of vintage suitcases accent the hearth to the left.

More letter cubes made another banner for the season...

and my, sweet, little mice hide among the foliage inside.

More cubes that didn't get strung, just simply set in place...

and even a few more scattered on my daddy's old Windsor chair that balances the right.

Here's a re-wind of the whole look in full view....no need to scroll way back to the top....I've just done it for you!

So, that's all for our mantel and fireplace decor. I'll be back next week to share the way the rest of the room came together with a whole lot of treasures and vignettes.

Ta-ta, for now!

 Love, Hugs and Kisses,
JP
and Gucci, too!
Can you see him? He's playing "peek-a-boo!
