A New Spring Nest on Our Mailbox

Today, in honor of spring, I updated our mailbox decor....it was a picture perfect 70 degree day!

I decided to keep the nest and just give it a whole new seasonal look.

The birdhouse and pudgy, little bluebird came from hobby lobby.

Plastic eggs haphazardly wrapped in rustic jute complete the vignette inside the nest.

I wanted to add more body to the grapevine wreath to make it look more like a "twiggy" nest. So, I glued a circle of burlap to hold my addition of twigs inside.

White wisteria is hot glued around the outside edge.

The addition of twigs came next.

I had cotton fabric that I tore into strips

and then "hot glued" them together to make a really long length

to loop and to knot into this really big, shabby bow.

Fuzzy, lamb's ears and the beginnings of mums share the soil with some annual snapdragon's in the pot buried below.

In two more weeks our beautiful azaleas should be in bloom. I think we have at least 40 out front and in the back. It's a gorgeous sight that I will be back to share!

For more mailbox posts you can find them via my search bar to see what other looks it's had.

I'll be back next week, after I get our yard work done, to share how I've started to "springify" the yard and porch.

Love, Hugs and Kisses,

JP
and Gucci, too!

Visiting Southport,  N.C? b e sure to stop by my booth @ the Northrop Antiques Mall and see what I may have there for you!

A very special "thank you" to my dear Jody from rootedinthyme for choosing this as one of the features on her beautiful blog.
