Spring, A Tablescape & Moving Boxes

Well, it's a sure thing...spring is officially here

and the brick cape is ours!

It will soon be our last Easter celebration here in New York and I wanted to plan the day's special table décor.  So, today, I took a break from packing to set a mock Easter/Spring tablescape and let you all know that I'm still around...I don't want you to forget me!

This is what I played around with today.

Vintage, Steubenville serving pieces and white ironstone were lucky goodwill finds...the bright yellow, stoneware plates were a, Mother's Day, gift from my sweet, Kaycie Leigh!

Heirloom, crystal glasses are dear to my heart and always fine their way onto my tablescapes.

Here they were from last year's Easter brunch.

Since, there will probably be eight of us and this table is set for four, I think I'll mix and match what I have and add some special eggs to the centerpiece for the big day.

Spring clover, aka oxalis, a white corn husk bunny and daisy, napkin rings add to the details in the centerpiece.

Precious, yellow chicks compliment the yellow accents, just right!

The sweet, brown rabbit usually sits in our garden for most of the year.

And finally, today we got news that the rental we have been wanting is officially ours...a brick cape with lots of potential to transform it into a comfortable, temporary, new home.

Here's some pics of the piles of boxes, packed and stacked and ready to go. The rest of the house is a dreadful mess...no more pretty pics of it to share!

Still half a house to pack and landscape plants to bring along... I hope they make the trip and adapt to their new home.

Our moving date is set for April 15th...I will try to post about our good bye's and our journey along the way!

Love, Hugs & Kisses,
JP

A move like you're making is usually actually a 6 month project from start to finish. I'm glad to see that you're having some sweet moments along the way. The corn husk creatures are about the cutest that I've seen. That bunny makes me smile. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

Whew! That seems to be a lot of things to unpack. Moving in to a new place is a challenge—a good kind of challenge. Ask some friends and family members to come over and help you load stuff into the moving truck. I wish you good luck and I hope that you enjoy your new house. Grab this opportunity to make another fresh start in your lives. :)

Thanks for sharing this post I also share with you some tip hope you like. A four-piece box that can come in large or small sizes (small shown); can be customized by telescoping in and out; use crumpled packing paper in the corners to add cushion and make sure to wrap your mirror or picture with bubble wrap before placing it in the box

Expect your place to be messy when you're moving to a new house. Everything needs to be packed and covered. You even have to bring out all the things that you've kept on the storage room for a long time. This is the time to identify what you can bring and throw away. There are some things that are hard to let go; but if they're nothing more than dead space, then we have no choice but to accept it. Hope you made through the move without too much problems!
