More "Designer Glitz" with a French Inspired Twist

Gonna keep this post short :)
I thought that you might like to see the vanity bench re-do that I showed to you in one of my very first posts.
It was pretty outdated and blah, but it was a tag sale steal for just five bucks...woo-hoo!

Here it is before.

And this is it with a paint job, french fabric and lots of..."Designer Glitz!"

A mix of buttons and rhinestones...old and new.

The back is "glitzed up" too!

Even with a vintage, jet necklace.

Here it is with some other french inspired creations.
C'est Manifique!

The first post...."Some Designer Glitz"

Gotta get some sleep. Tomorrow's another day!

Love, Hugs & Kisses,
JP

P.S. another re-do that seems to be a "hit!"

A Rustic " Shabby Glam " Washstand

I found this red, old and crusty washstand a few months ago and had an idea to make it really unique!

I wanted to leave it in it's natural state with it's primitive, chippy, old, red paint.
But, I was dying to add a little something different...something out of the norm for furniture and still rustic, but with a little bit of "Shabby Glam!"

A few photos of  when I first got it.

Now, are you ready?
Do you want to see it?
Are you really ready?
Am I teasing you?
I had to wait a really long time for the knobs to arrive.
Oh, boy....I sure hope you like it!

DRUM ROLL......
Ta-da-da-da-da-da!!!!!

I'm old and broken and distressed...that's why I'm wearing my
"Sunday Best"

Some french script papers with deep red roses...twisted, burlap ruffles to keep it rustic and those
glamorous,  rhinestone knobs, now, make it super special!

I lined the drawers...one with fabric and one with the paper and coated them with "mod podge" to make them easy to keep clean.

This is the "ready made" burlap that I used to sew the ruffles and twisted accents.

With my excitement to finish my new piece and never having made layered ruffles before I had to cheat, a wee bit, on the way they were done.
After hot glueing on my first row of ruffles, I realized that I needed a "base" to attach the next row to, duh!

I glued the second ruffle onto the "base." The top ruffle is mostly out of this shot :(
I creased the papers, prior to cutting, to get my exact size. Then used "mod podge" and applied several coats to the drawer and inside the bottom.

Oh, and a much needed tip for sewing on burlap or any other loose weave fabrics...
layer wax paper under your work to prevent the fabric from being "eaten"by your machine. It's a mess to get it un-jammed!!!

And if you thought I baked the beautiful, apple pie...I can't lie... I cheated! Had to pick up a store bought one, for times sake. Looks yummy though, right?

Well, gotta go off to my shop to create a listing...I have no place to put it :(
so, on the market it will go!

Til next time...stayed tuned for our "Pumpkin Family" DIY for my next post!

Love, Hugs & Kisses,
JP

Our Sweet Autumn Floral Display

Although, I hate the thought that summer is on it's way out the new, fall blossoms and foliage are a wonderful sight to see!

The foliage hides our pool pump, perfectly!

This is our, barn wood, bird house that's almost completely wrapped with sweet autumn clematis.

Purple, obedient plants make a perfect companion!

"Gucci" guards our gate to our "secret garden!"
Can you find him?

A rusty, metal mirror and sweet, autumn clematis on the gate reflects images inside.
 Grapvines flourish on our arbor.

Russian sage and purple aster by another birdhouse.

This was our entrance welcoming one and all last year. This years design is almost ready for it's reveal, but I've got some tweaking, yet, to do!

Even our "man in the tree" got a little "face lift" with some left over spray from my pumpkin painting frenzy!
If you missed that post you can find it here:

Okay...all done with this post...gotta see what else I need to do!
Stay posted for this years entrance re-do with my new "pumpkin family" and a "How To"

Til next time...enjoy your day or sleep tight  whichever it may be for you!

Love, Hugs & Kisses

Another Fall " Glam " Centerpiece with Pearls

So, I just couldn't resist making another fall centerpiece...but I had to "borrow" the inspiration that was hanging on our front door!
As you may have been noticing in my posts or in my shop listings...I lo-o-ove pearls!!!
and.... rhinestones and burlap and leopard and florals and lace and the list goes on.
Basically, glam, glitz, romance and little rustic tossed in... just as long as it color co-ordinates, I'm good.
If not my OCD kicks in and it's gotta go!

I like the reflection, of our mantle, in the mirror over the couch.

Well, that's all for now and if you'd like to see more of the fireplace and mantle you can see it here.
Our Fall Fireplace and Mantle Display with a little bit o' "Glam!"

Now, I'm off to edit some pics for my next post of my "Shabby Glam" red washstand.
This is the way I found it.

Now here's a little tease...

Til next time...I'm gonna be a very busy, little bee!

Love and Lotsa Hugs,
JP
