Diamond Dust Love & some more Hearts!

I recently discovered "diamond dust" and have fallen in love with it's diamond like sparkle...these are some wreaths that I made over the weekend.

I used it on the salt dough hearts and on the wreath's backing to accent the rustic, grapevine and give them some fancy glam!

Both are tagged and ready to be sold for the upcoming day of love or maybe someone's wedding.

I'm sure there are many uses for diamond dust and Bella from Bella's Rose Cottage was the one who turned me on to it's use. When I saw her post with these gorgeous, candle votives I knew I just had to try it on something, too!

Off to work on more V. day projects...I've got another "clubhouse" party coming up and I need to make a lot of people smile!

Mixing Winter & Valentine's Day in Our Living Room

It was time to decorate for Valentine's Day and I decided to let the winter theme, from Christmas, stay. I just added some hearts and love into the mix.

In most places it's still snowy and cold in February, so, it made sense to enjoy it for a little bit longer.

Our little snowman couple made it's yearly debut and sits perfectly on the window's edge.

The "sock snowmen" cuddle up together to show a little bit of "love!"

Grandma and Grandpa's vintage, brass heart is my favorite part of this little vignette.

A rustic banner of love with a little glam hangs in just the perfect spot.

The winter sled stayed as did our Christmas tree....the first time past the 6th for me!

Strands of pearls and red, silk rose petals are the perfect addition to our Valentine tree.

My cherished, red satin, chocolate box found it's own special place under the tree.

And a simple, boa heart tops the tree.

Off to the corner of the room is our 2014 " Ladder of Love"....I'll be sharing that and a few more things from around the room in my next post.

Time for me to relax and enjoy me some "American Idol!"

White Rose Wreath with Pearls

Wreath making resumed today and this is another one that I will be taking in to the shop in hopes that someone will like it enough to buy it!

I think that it's perfect for the romance of Valentine's Day, a wedding or anniversary. I, certainly, would display it year 'round!

Pearls and roses just always make me say...."ah-hh!"

I stamped the ribbon banner with a phrase of love and added the scripted butterflies for an added touch of whimsy.
It's a one of a kind, but I just might have to make a few more!

And it's Friday night, my date night, our night for romance to celebrate the end of my honey's long, work week :) I'll be making more hearts and working on more posts of love and romance with lots of decor to share.
Wishing you a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

Salt Dough Hearts and a Valentine Vignette in a Terrarium

The day to celebrate romance is getting near and it was time to play around with hearts.
Salt dough Valentine's with words of love to hang and display became my creations with an added touch of glitz.

The assortment of hearts then became my props to display for this post and now off to the shop they will go!

A mix of accents create romance and glam, with paper lace, rhinestone hearts and fluffy, little feathers.

The dough was stamped and the holes were made prior to their baking,

The words were selected hoping to sell some as a pair :)

These are especially dear to my heart....a "Savage Garden" hit from 1997!

And who can resist these favorite expressions of the heart?

or these?

Here they are on display in our kitchen's bay window....just for my "shoot" of the day.

I'm keeping winter in the house through Valentine's Day, this year.

I love my precious, little snowmen and I'm not ready to put them away!

I love using our terrarium for so many different vignettes and seasonal displays.

The little love birds were our very first ornaments that we purchased together.

Last year's Terrarium of Love can be seen here...if you have the time ;)

Vintage hearts from my collection...a rhinestone pin and foil wrapped chocolate add a little "candy for the eyes!"

Love~Love~Love

I need to make one more with...."intimacy"...when two become one.
It's my all time sentimental favorite!!!
Monday will be a day of pillows....hearts of course! Ones that I've been wanting to do for over a year now...I'm gonna have to keep one of them, too!

New Year's Eve in the Clubhouse & Some Photoshop Editing

I was delighted when I was asked to assist in decorating the clubhouse, in River Run Plantation, the community where we have been residing for the past 8 1/2 months.
So, as a thank you for letting me spend $150 of their decorating budget, to buy additional decorations for their annual New Year's celebration, I am writing this post for them to share with the anyone that was unable to attend.
I always edit my photos using Pic Monkey's editing tools. It's a free website picmonkey.com

Since I love to play around with editing I upgraded to their Royale package to take advantage of their fun upgrades....it's worth the monthly $4.99 fee for me!
Frost is one of my favorites to apply along with some fun bokeh effects, like the stars in the two photos above.
The clubhouse is such a great place for meetings, activities and a wonderful space to entertain!

Here's another pic of the space with some changes using exposure, sharpening and frost.

Isn't the clubhouse lovely? The band fit perfectly, in the corner, under the stars.

Seating areas were re-arranged for groups and intimate conversations...

and even a space for the guests to dance.

I had a lot of helpers to assist with the execution of the decor. DIY, chair covers were cut and adorned by many. Plastic was used to transform the plain folding chairs into elegant seats for around 50 cents each.
You can see more of how I used them in my Christmas post here!

The Christmas tree was re-decorated with hats and horns and co-ordinated decor.

And I highlighted the star on top of the tree.... a fun, little touch...don't you agree?

A little lens flare, with more bokeh stars, was added here adding a fun festive touch.

And then more of the same, by adding more highlights, to the candles flames.

One of the centerpiece pics with a simple, film grain, touch.

More lens flare was added to the ornament in the centerpiece below.

Film grain, exposure and sparkle bokeh add some punch to this simple vignette.

Exposure and frost were the only addition here.

Some lens flare editing, highlights the star on the chandelier,
an execution by my, two youngest, helpers who stuck by my side throughout the long day!

This phenomenal cake was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, too!

And entertainment was enjoyed, for the celebration, by all!

I'm ending this post with a great "big thank" you to my friend, Eileen Broader, for introducing me to some wonderful people on the board and in the community. To Kathleen/Kathy Scott, the board's president, for initially asking for my help with their celebratory decor. And a special thank you to, Barbara Kucszmynda, president of the social committee and her right hand assistant, Carolyn Bove, for their welcoming me with such warmth. I will be hoping for another "fix" for my compulsive disorder when their next festive occasion demands!

Now, I'm off to start my next big task...undecorating our Christmas decor...ugh! that's a really, really big chore!
