My Pearl and Gold Candlescape

I'm back in the groove and my back is on the mend!

Thank you to all who wished me well! Two days flat on my back had me going absolutely stir soon as I could stand up and walk I've been digging into my boxes of Holiday trimmings. The house has been a total disaster for days...thankfully, my honey understood and there we no unexpected visitors!

Now, the tree and the mantle are almost done and the living room is back to normal and ready for guests, so, photos of that will be next on my list.

Here's a peek of my gold and pearl candlescape to start with.

Now here's a few more, little teaser's, of the mantle.....

Don't forget to watch for the full reveal!

All done for now, there's the entry and kitchen and lotsa projects to do...gotta keep movin'...I'm on a roll!

Let the Holiday's Begin!

I've been so excited about decorating for the holiday's this will be our last chance to decorate our home here in New York, before we move south.  I want it to be perfect for the family and grand children with beautiful photos to look back on and for my posts. But, as of this morning, I am flat on my back and can't move a muscle to do a thing!
I expected this post to be full of sneak peeks of Holiday ooh' and aah's....but, obviously, my Holiday  decorating will have to wait until I can pull myself up off this couch and get moving again. Hopefully, it will be just be a few days before I can start to do what I am laying here and dreaming of. Until then, I hope you are having a ball with all of your creations and making your homes gorgeous with inspirations for me to see. I'm gonna be spending a bit more time browsing around and getting more ideas and pleasure in seeing what you have done. And that may be just the thing, I need, for me to just relax and dream!

I hope I will be able to have my pics for you, soon....'til then have fun!

"Glammed Up" White Wicker Mirror

I wasn't crazy over this wicker, heart mirror, bit I thought it had some potential to get
"all dolled up" and this is how I purchased it...just plain boring.

This is what I was inspired to use.

Opted not to use the jute on it after all, but this is how it turned out.

Wall mirror or vanity tray...
Pretty darn sweet!
Don't you think?

Gonna go tackle a makeover on our coffee's been waiting for my help :)

Have a Happy Thanksgiving to All!

White Glam and Glitz and Some Cherished Heirlooms

Looking through my photo files these images, in whites, with some glam and glitz,
just made me want to share them with you. They are of items sold, to be sold or simply, cherished heirlooms.
Grandma's Bible.

Grandma's talc container and rhinestone necklace.

Grandmas' white, lace hanky and jewelry.

More of grandma's glitz!

Grandma's talc tin and a sampler and photo of her mother... my great, grandma Emma.

Daddy's baby shoes.

A cherished card of  "LOVE" from my Dad.

Another shot in color...hope you enjoyed my pics.

Short and sweet and wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Love, Hugs and Kisses,

Little White Ladder Shelf

This is not something that hasn't already be done. Ladder decor has been around in country homes for many, many years. I just wanted to post some pics of the one that I've had around for a while now. Of course I don't have a pic of it in it's natural color, but that isn't too hard to picture, now is it?

Here it is, now, after I gave it a white, dry brush, aging.

We have really high ceilings and a lot of wall space so, this spot is the perfect place to hang a shelf for some little displays.

This is how it looks in our living room.
Wish I had a panoramic setting...I like the way it flows.

And compliments our decor.

We used to have a beautiful, early 1800's, red stenciled, sled hanging in it's place...but, with our intentions to move south I decided to part with it, last year, just after Christmas. I didn't think we'd be here for another Holiday season..."waaah" I miss it, now! Oh, the photo ops it could have had!!!

Well, I'm content with the replacement and even happier that it was FREE :)

Here's a few more of my photo, practice shots from today's shoot....still can't wait for my new camera!

HATE the pic...HATE my camera...but, I do love my little "sampler." Every time I look at it I wonder how I ever did it. It's a teenie tiny, 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" in size!

A close up of my milk glass vase that I painted and distressed. I like it better, now.

The vintage bottle holds pearls from "Grandma's" broken necklaces.

A Fall Thanksgiving Tablescape

Dinner get togethers can be no fuss or fuss and I just can't help myself...I like to fuss!

So, company meant pulling together another fall tablescape and I had to change it up a bit from
and that meant a photo shoot, too!

This is how it came out.
Some pics just don't come out right for me...waiting for a new camera, maybe for Christmas!
Lots more pics...with some editing :)
Here's my fall scarf again. I wish I had three more :(

White, burlap placemats layered over our woven ones for more texture and color.

The Centerpiece

 "Mom's" white pitcher.

Our vintage, brass "dinner bell!"

Bread in a "basket" on a makeshift side table.

After the dinner I needed a place to store my napkin holders so up on the "chandy" they went...I still need to make a few more!
Well, that's all for now!
